VOLUME 57 ISSUE 45 NOVEMBER 10, 2020 P33 man Gautier Paulin (Yamaha), followed by Jeremy Seewer (Yamaha) and Clement Desalle (Kawasaki). For Paulin and De- salle, it was their final races of their careers. Both Desalle and Paulin had earlier announced their retirements from profes- sional racing. "I'm super happy to win my fourth title on Wednesday," Gajser said. "Today the goal was to just go out there and have fun and we did that; we won the last overall of the year. So, couldn't end better. I am so thankful. I want to say a huge thanks to ev- eryone, to all my team, we were really working hard, and every- body was putting so much effort into preparing the bike, getting better and better." The race for second in the championship came down to the final moto, with Seewer leading Cairoli by one point, but Cairoli went down in the first moto and retired with a broken shifter. It was Cairoli's 14th top three in the MXGP Championship. Gasjer officially finished out the season with 720 points, followed by Seewer with 618 and Cairoli with 599 points. Febvre and Pau- lin rounded out the top five overall. Great Britain's Ben Watson closed out the MX2 Championship with the overall victory over Red Bull KTM's Tom Vialle, who had clinched the class championship just four days earlier, and French- man Maxime Renaux (Yamaha). "It was an incredible day for me," Vialle said. "To take my first world title was just amazing. The last two days were really good, I enjoyed them a lot. In the second race, I crashed in the start and I came back from last to fifth. I crashed again two times I think, so I was a little bit angry, I was hoping for better starts and better positions but I'm happy to finish second overall." Vialle finished out the year with 759, followed by Belgium's Jago Geerts (Yamaha) with 679 and Frenchman Maxine Renaux (Yamaha) with 581. CN MXGP of Pietramurata (Nov 4) MXGP 1.
