Dan Smith made front-page news for winning his fifth consecutive AMA
Hare & Hound National Championship. Kawasaki's Larry Roeseler won
the final race of the year in Nevada, but KTM rider, Smith, wrapped up
the 1990 title with a second place... We covered the 5th Annual 4500-
mile Acerbis Adventure Incas Rally. Italian Fabrizio Meoni was the overall
winner with American Kevin Hines
taking second and Czechoslovakian
Jan Hrehor taking third.

We tested the all-new 2001 Suzuki GSX-R600, which was pictured on the
cover while in action at Road Atlanta 20 years ago... The Yamaha YZ250
was our 2001 250cc MX Shootout winner... We featured an interview with
Scott Russell... Texan Grant Lopez wrapped up the 2001 Wrenchead.com
Unlimited Superbike Championship at Daytona. Lee Acree took the Sport
Bike Series title... We showed our readers first pictures of Honda's first
four-stroke motocrosser being raced-tested in Japan with Sébastien
Tortelli at the controls.
