LOOKING BACK
Drag racer Bo O'Brochta was featured on the cover of Cycle News 40
years ago for winning the NHRA/NMRA Winston World Finals at Ontario
Motor Speedway in California. We also had coverage of his win in New
Jersey and Missouri... We showed you some of the latest motorcycle-
related products from the 1980 Motorcycle Dealernews Aftermarket Expo
from Las Vegas.

OCTOBER 29, 1980
Belgian Joel Robert showed up for the Trans-AMA Motocross Series
in Delta, Ohio. We were pretty excited about his arrival, so we pictured
the 250cc World Motocross Championship on the cover 50 years ago.
Robert was the winner... Over the same weekend, the Inter-Am Series
took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Swede Arne Kring took the win...
We had coverage of the Inter-AM MX in Atlanta, where riders were told by
the FIM that they would be chosen to ride either the expert or novice class
by how neatly they fill out their entry blanks. Entry fee was $7.50.
