Things were a little more
straightforward in the AFT
Singles championship. Estenson
Racing's Dallas Daniels came
into the weekend with a 70-point
advantage and needed just five
points on Friday to clinch his first
American Flat Track champion-
ship at the young age of 17. That
sounds like simple math, but not
that's a huge part that keeps
me in tune with the motorcycle,
keeps me in tune with the
whole thing."
Although Mees really needed
the win, his runner-up finish
over Bauman did close the gap
to nine points heading into the
final two rounds of the season
next weekend at the Daytona
Short Track.
"It just means so much
because we are the privateers
coming up and going after the
big money team," Carver said.
"My team does not get paid. I
pay for the travel, the expens-
es. Everybody takes their time
out and it just means so much.
For me to put the time in and
to be hands-on, work on the
motorcycle, be all a part of it,
