VOLUME 57 ISSUE 41 OCTOBER 13, 2020 P107 IIIMY OWN RACE: 1 CAMERON BEAUBIER DNF-3-2 SUPERBIKE "A long me," Cameron Beaubier said when asked how long Sunday's second race felt like it lasted. "To be honest, I felt like I just lost a li le confidence a er three crashes this weekend, and the li le electrical gremlins we had, which it doesn't happen o en, but the Superbikes, the electronics are so complex that just one li le thing you do wrong can just kind of throw everything off. Luck- ily everything was fine that last race today, but a er the re's heat cycle, I just had no confidence, man. Sure, I could have gone faster, but I wanted to bring this thing home a er crashing three mes and having my guys stay up un l midnight a couple nights this weekend fixing my bike. Obviously, I'm over the moon happy, but I'm just relieved at the same me to get this plate for my guys." (Above) Race one gets underway, and it's about to get painful for Kyle Wyman (33). The Arizona resident high-sided in the following corner, crushing the screen with his neck and almost garroting himself and taking a solid hit to the groin. He bounced back for races two and three. (Left) Lorenzo Zanetti in full send mode. The Italian came out swinging at Indy and took race two, the first for Ducati in a decade. It was a win that proved the might of the factory Panigale in MotoAmerica. Will we see a full assault on the series in 2021? Lorenzo Zanetti (Celtic HSBK Racing Ducati) was the revelation of Indy. The Italian arrived with a full WorldSBK-spec Ducati Panigale V4 R SBK and made his own piece of history by taking third in race one but winning a tight race two, Ducati's first AMA Superbike win since 2010. He continued his podium charge to take third in race three, right behind Beaubier. Bobby Fong (M4 Ecstar Suzuki) continued his upward climb as he dominated race three for his second triumph of the weekend after taking race one. He finished an ultra-close second to Zanetti in race two. In the championship, Beaubier is untouchable at 361 to Jake Gagne's 264 points, with Fong third at 234.
