Although his advantage was
gone, Texter went back to the
front from the staggered restart
and was able to take his first win
since the season opener and put
an end to Rispoli's win streak.
"I didn't like to see that red
flag," Texter said. "I was trying
to maintain that gap. Before that
restart, they told me James was
catching me, and I was like, 'I'm
not giving this up easy tonight.'
I wanted it so bad. Honestly, it's

Cory Texter and James Rispoli
squared off at Dixie Speedway,
with Texter on his G&G Roof Sys-
tems Yamaha MT-07 coming out
on top in the twice red-flagged
Atlanta Short Track I.
Starting on pole, Texter
grabbed the holeshot twice, the
first start and then again after the
complete restart. Hungry for the
win, the defending champ built a
comfortable lead with Rispoli on
his Latus Motors Racing Harley-
Davidson XG750R doing every-
thing he could to run his rival
down. With under two minutes to
go, the red flag was brought out
Daniels fifth-straight win and
seventh this season moved him
closer to clinching the title. With
his rival Wiles having a tough
weekend, finishing fifth in Friday's
race and missing the main on
Saturday after being collected in
a crash with Daniels' teammate
Mikey Rush in the semi, Daniels
holds a 70-point lead with four
rounds remaining.
The battle for third was fought
between Coondoo Cattle Co./
Australian Road Services Kawa-
saki rider Max Whale and Kitch-
en, with the Australian being able
to hold off Kitchens advances to
return to the podium for the first
time since Springfield and move
into third in the standings.
