Fortunately, Hampshire was not injured in the spectacu- lar crash, but his mangled bike was done. His team would refit it for the second moto, in which he finished sixth. CN to the one and only track on the circuit right where he's won before. This time he put to- gether a solid 4-2 afternoon for second, his best effort of the year to date. "It's been an up and down season, and I've been waiting to put together two good motos like this, and today was the day," said Cooper to NBC Sport's Will Christensen on the social-dis- tanced podium. "This place defi- nitely brings the heat. It just feels good when you're expected to do this and it hasn't come in so long and to finally get it down is just, I'm just grateful." Geico Honda's Jett Lawrence, the youngest rider in the class at 17, was again frustrated in his bid to get his first overall podium. His 2-5 scores meant fourth overall.
