Osborne's struggles also opened a door for three-time champion Tomac, but poor starts and the inability to make many passes cost him dearly. The one rider who would seize on the points leader's problems was Cianciarulo, last year's 250 class champion. He posted two wire-to-wire fin- ishes, battling to the end in both motos with a determined Blake Baggett of the Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS KTM team. "I was just kind of tunnel vision all day," said Cianciarulo who hails from Florida. "I've never gone 1-1 before, even "I honestly didn't see them," Osborne said of the missed signals from the team. "I thought they had changed position (in pit row) and gone back to get a wheel or some- thing so I didn't see anyone, and I just kept hammering and trying to manage what I could which was quite tough in some places. I almost went down quite a few times." Osborne eventually limped across the finish line in 16th in the moto, which should have given his closest rival in the points, Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin, a great chance to do some damage. But the French rider made a mistake of his HIPSTER RJ Hampshire admitted after the race that he was dealing with a hip injury during the motos. "I had a practice crash in the sec- ond session, and it actually upset my hip a little more than I thought," Hampshire said. "I led half of the first moto and was feeling good but I kind of jammed it again and it was just tough after that. We managed to still get 11th in the second moto, which isn't great, but we had a lot of speed today." NO TY TODAY Ty Masterpool (Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha) sat out the Millville race with a leg injury that he suffered when he tangled with Jett Lawrence at RedBud 2. He reported on social media that the "... the bone is all good just the nerves are all flared up so I have to take care of the swelling and bruising." He's hopeful he'll be ready for the next round in Florida. MILLVILLE NOTES: The rumor in the pits lately is that Geico will not return as the team sponsor for the Geico Honda squad in 2021; this could mean that current team riders will be free agents at the end of the season... Another rumor involves Minnesota's own Ryan Dungey who attended the Millville race and is reportedly considering coming out of retirement... It sounds as though the Monster Energy/Star Racing Team will handle Yamaha's factory racing effort next year in the 450 class... Jalek Swoll DNF'd the first 250MX moto when his forks locked up, and then his shoulder popped out during the second lap of the second moto. He rode through it and finished 18th in the moto... Stilez Robert- son fell and hit his head during qualify- ing and withdrew from the event... After finishing sixth in the first 250MX moto, Cameron McAdoo crashed out on the third lap of the second moto. Briefly...
