In the final moments,
Varnes caught up to Texter
who was running a comfort-
able second for most of
the race. He made a move
going into Turn 3, which
was complicated by lapped
traffic, and ultimately Texter
was able to counter in turn
four to cross the finish line
in second by 0.058 of a
second.
Johnny Lewis made his-
tory by putting his Royal
Enfield inside the top 10 in
both Production Twin finals.
It was the brand's first entry
in AFT racing. Lewis went
6-7. CN
