VOL. 50 ISSUE 18 MAY 7, 2013 That was actually my first time to South America. I've only been to Mexico a few times. It was my first X-Games experience and I was there to have some fun and it all worked out. I just did what I could do to put together some solid runs. I tried some things to change it up a little bit with some transfers and nobody else was doing that. Did you take any risks or were you playing it safe considering it was your first XGames? Well, it was Brazil so I definitely played it as safe as I possibly could - plus the fact that I have X-Fighters just three weeks away. So I wanted to save myself for that and not do anything over my head. I mainly focused on the bigger tricks that I had in my bag and tried to hold them a little bit P103 longer and execute them as best as I could to try and impress the judges. How were the fans in South America compared the ones we are used to seeing here in the states? The fans are crazy - they're actually insane. During the entire show, and even the awards ceremony, the fans are just going wild, screaming like crazy. I ended up throwing out all my gloves and goggles into the crowd. I even threw my jersey to the fans after the contest. After the award's ceremony, I didn't even have a shirt but, yeah, there was definitely a lot of people out there going nuts and I wasn't really expecting that. It was really awesome, especially because we were out there in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the jungle basically. How was the course in Brazil? Jessie Olson built the course; I've ridden a few of his courses before, but it was all pretty normal stuff - you know 75-foot ramp jumps, an 80-foot dirt hit, but the bigger one was a 110-foot rampto-dirt and those were like the main jumps and the ones that everyone was doing all of their main tricks on. What's your schedule like? I work out with a lot of moto guys over at Icon Sports and with a lot of the employees from KTM and stuff. I try to get over there and work out like three days a week, but as much as I ride and practice on my bike sometimes
