VOLUME 57 ISSUE 36 SEPTEMBER 9, 2020 P61 REDBUD NOTES: It was announced that Dean Wilson signed a one-year contract exten- sion (through 2021) with his Rock- star Energy Husqvarna Team for both Supercross and the outdoor Nationals... Jason Anderson un- derwent surgery earlier in the week to remove hardware that was put in place when he broke his arm in 2019. The team is hopeful he will be back before the end of the outdoor series... Joey Savatgy (JGR/ Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing) set the quickest lap time in 450MX Q1 Monday, which ended up being the second-best time overall... After finishing on the 450MX moto podium the first time ever Friday, Chase Sexton (Honda HRC) went down in the second corner in both motos Monday; he went 9-9 for 10th overall... Honda HRC Team Manager Erik Kehoe was ill and did not attend the RedBud round. He is expected to be back at the next round at Millville... The post-race press conference did not take place after Monday's race but will take place on Tuesday... The racers have their first and only weekend break of the series before heading to Millville. Briefly... rider, Ferrandis, by nine points. "I'm not going to deny it, I was pretty pissed off," Martin said of the incident with Ferrandis. "I know Dylan and I are in this championship and I have a ton of re- spect for the guy. I knew it was coming, I knew he was going to start to get aggres- sive, but I didn't expect it going down the straightaway like that, so I guess it's just game on for the rest of the year." Ferrandis said, "It was really unfortu- nate. I don't really know what happened. I think this championship is between us two, and we both really want it. So, I think it was just a racing incident." Hampshire (Rockstar Energy Husqvar- na) is third in the championship having overtaken Monday's first-moto winner Shane McElrath, who had a terrible sec- ond moto after spinning off the starting gate. Hampshire trails runner-up Ferran- dis by 37 points.
