And, on Monday, Osborne man- aged to gain a few valuable points on his nearest rivals— Musquin and Tomac— going into the race in the 450MX Championship, despite losing ground to both of them in the first moto. Osborne on Monday with a 1-3, defending champ Eli Tomac getting skunked, rookie Chase Sexton getting on the 450MX moto podium for the first time, and Jeremy Martin overtaking Dylan Ferrandis in the 250MX Championship. After the first five of nine rounds, Osborne can seem to do no wrong. Even when things appear to be not going his way, he IIIMY OWN RACE: said Monday. "I hit my shoulder and my head, so it was not great for only having two days to recover. It was hard, but I had to deal with that, and we saved some points in the cham- pionship. Today, in the first moto we had an incident with 'J Mart' [Jeremy Mar n]. In the second moto, I got a bad start again. We are ge ng a lot of bad starts right now, so we need to figure out what's wrong. I feel like I'm the problem, not the bike because the bike is really great, and the team is doing a great job. We can see that all of our bikes are always in front. So, I need to fix that." 41 TY MASTERPOOL 8TH (3-13) / 8TH (4-13) 250MX Ty Masterpool, who just returned to racing from a broken leg, con nues to show winning speed but li le mistakes, that o en mes turn into big mistakes, keep haun ng him. "The starts have been good," the Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha rider said. "I kind of got the power-to-weight ra o going for me, being 120 pounds. I felt pre y good in the motos. I was running up there. I just kind of made some dumb li le mistakes here and there. It's great to be back racing, and I'm feeling pre y good for ge ng released to race less than a week ago. I've got the speed. I just want to stay up front now and stop making those small mistakes." Adam Cianciarulo (9) nearly captured his first career 450MX overall victory with a perfect 1-1 on Monday, but a run-in with a lapper in the second moto while leading prevented that from happening. A 1-3 was still good enough to get the job done.
