VOLUME 57 ISSUE 36 SEPTEMBER 9, 2020 P55 BY THE CN STAFF PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROB KOY I f there's one word that best describe this year's Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, it's unpredictable. Or, perhaps, competitive—really competitive. Every time the 40 racers line up behind the starting gate so far this season, it seems as though any one of about 10 or so riders has a realistic chance of winning—in both the 450MX and 250MX classes! But the one thing that you can be assured of is that the racing will be damn good. For the first time in Pro Motocross history, the championship ran a doubleheader at the same venue over a single weekend, albeit a long weekend. The first race was held on a Friday and the second on Labor Day Monday. And, unfortunately, the races were held without spectators, and what a track for that to happen—Red- Zach Osborne (16) won both 450MX motos on Friday, and while he didn't have the same success on Monday, he managed to pad his points lead in the championship.
