VOLUME 57 ISSUE 36 SEPTEMBER 9, 2020 P25 Lafferty Wins Burning Rock SRT East HS R yder Lafferty (KTM) cap- tured the overall win at round seven of the SRT/AMA East Hare Scrambles Champi- onship in Sophia, West Virginia, September 6. Lafferty chased Beta's Thorn Devlin for the lead early in the race, and when Devlin ran off the track in the MX section, Laf- ferty saw his chance to pounce and did just that. Lafferty shot into the lead and never looked back. The race for second, how- ever, was a good one, with Sam Evans (Husqvarna), Devlin and Kyle McDonal (Beta) all gunning for the position. In his attempt to catch Evans after running off the track, Devlin cooked his brakes couldn't catch Evans. He did, however, stay in front of Mc- Donal for third place and keep his title hopes very much alive with two rounds remaining. McDonal ended up fourth, while KTM rider Dylan Dela- Cruz rounded out the top five. In the morning's popular Youth race, Ryder Sigety, com- peting in the 9-11, rode off to the overall win on his Team Sigety YZ85. Tyler Atkinson (KTM) took runner-up honors, while Harvey Bull (KTM) got on the box in third.
