Aft e r d icing fo r a couple of laps just a b ike length apart, Atkins turned up t he wi ck through t h e whoops for a pass on Zu lian for th ird . Stroud got past Ro berts o n o n th e s ixth la p for fifth . Ka rlsen stretched o ut his le ad to three sec o nd s o ve r Carl son at th e c hec k e rs, and a n am azing la st- d itch e ffo rt by Stroud a llowe d th e Colorado Powers po rts rider to ch arge past Atkins o ver the fin ish -lin e jump for thi rd . Zulian held on for fifth , with Robertson , Todd Horning , Rya n Rozinsk i, Shaffer and Greg Wertz rounding out the top 10 . With a steady rai n falling a nd the temperatures droppi ng , Stroud gob bled up th e hol eshot in moto tw o . Karl sen got off the gate in th ird and e me rged seconds later o v e r the T e xa s Tunne l jump with the lead. A second separated Karlsen and Atk ins , with Ca rls o n , Zul ian a nd Shaffer in chase. Positio ns rema ined the same for the most part throughout the moto a s the we athe r continued to wo rsen . With on e lap remaining , Ka rls en and Atkins entered th e newly added back s ectio n with o ne second s e pa rating th e two. A few turns lat er , co ming out of th e hilly s e ction , Atk ins e merged wit h the lead . Atki ns p ow ered h is Vickery Motorsports /Fox -sponsored Yamaha around the remain ing halflap for the win . Kar lsen came in one second later with the overa ll. Ca rlso n finished in thi rd a distant 10 s eco nds back , with Zu lia n a nd Shaffer filling out t he to p five .
