Davis knew he was in trouble soon after getting gas on lap 12 . Not only h a d he given up the lea d , Hatch a nd Ab bott were moving up fast through lapped tra ffic . " Lap after lap Kiedrowski and Hatc h turn ed the heads of spectators and lap ped riders alike as they stayed with in 30-seconds of one another. Myers caught a second wind in the fina l laps, m ov ing around Abbott for th ird. Th e lead group lapped all the way ba ck to s ev enth pla c ed Dudek , who wa s not going slow by any means. "T h e re was a lot of mish-mash go ing around, s o I just kind of kept on going : sa id Lehman , who rode a KX500 for Team Gre en and Pric e Ra c ing . "I d idn 't p it unt il after 11 la ps . At th e halfwa y point, I was looking pretty good , but everyone ended up getting back by me. The 500 was ju st a little too much up on the ridges . If I was close to anybody I could pass them , but on the ridges it wa s too much for me . It wore me out. You could n' t make a 500 handle any bett e r th ou gh ."
