The F1M announc ed the 2001 Worl d Superbike Championship and the opening round
again conflicts with the Daytona 200 , making it impossible for the Infostrada Ducati team,
or any of the other World Superbike teams, to compe te in Ame rica 's most prestigious
race. The only way that would change is if the schedule changes, as it did this year. The
first race originally conflic ted with Daytona, but the series opened a month
after that in a later version of the schedule.
Although there are 14 rounds scheduled , several t r ac k s are subject to
homologatio n and one round is to be
announced. The schedule is as follows :
