a' er e The RM12S is designed around one simple fact: lighter and faster are better. That's why the all-new RM12S for 2001 is li ghter, with more power - and more controllable power de livery - than ever. Just wait until y ou feel the RM12S's inc reased top-end po wer. Th e eng ine is modified so it sits more upri ght , wh ic h means th e intake air passageways can be stra ighter. That Change , along w ith new exhaust po rt ing and a new exhaust p ipe , gives the en gine a ki c k in to p-en d po we r th at lets y ou flat-ou t run away from th e com pet it ion on stra ig htaways. Fo r better th rottle respon se ac ross the powerband, th e eng ine uses a new 38mm carburetor. The transmission is also completely refined. It has new f irst-and second-gear ratios th at help y ou grab t he hole shot. And w ith a li ghter c lu tch push rod and refined components throughout, it offers smoother shifting in every gear. In redesigning the RM12S, we considered every detail. Its engine is new from the inside out to make it more compact and lightweight. It 's also designed to concentrate its weight toward the center of the bike, which actually makes it feel even lighter than it is. Weight-saving plastic helped trim weight from the radiator shroud, fuel tank, seat and fenders. For 2001 , the RM12S also s port s a new-generation yel low. And that's sure to get you noticed as you lap the field. RMI25 FEATURES • Weight trimmed from virtually every component and weight-saving plastic makes the RM12SIighter than ever. • Redesigned frame is li ghter yet more ri gi d, wi t h new geometry for improved responsiveness. • Eng ine is posit ioned more upright to allow straight air inta ke tracts for increased mid-ran ge and top-end power. • Mod ified porting, redesigned exhaust pipe and ne w carburetor produce even more top-e nd perf o rmance and crisper throttle response across th e powerband. • Aggressive styling with new-generatio n ye llow.
