Goza pull ed a tr emendous ho leshot in the first 80cc B m oto , followed by Lewis an d Har ris on Bry ant. Al an Harper loo k ed strong in the early go ing of the fir st m ot o bef ore running off th e track in the S sect ion. KTM rider Russell Cone took th e po int. with Nick Seiph foilowing . Co ne ran away fo r a co m m and ing wi n over Selph. Hannah Tw illey bro ugh t her Honda 250 hom e in fourth, just behind Harper 's Husqvam a. Cone led th e seco nd heat from sta rt to fin is h . Tw ill ey c hase d Harper . and t heir p ac e bro ught th em up to Selph, who ran seco nd . Tw illey had o n ly ha lf th e suspe n sio n of th e tru e MX ma chines to work with , but th e determ ined rid er forged ahead and passed Harper on the last lap. She th en reel ed in Selph. m ade contact with his rear wh eel and finall y settled for a hard -earn ed third -pl ace fi ni sh . and wo n th e co m bined 55 cc (4·6) and (7 · 8) class . As usual. John Lewis won the 85c c (7 J J ) and XR 100 cl asses. T ravis Senn ett m ade his first start in th e 600cc B divisio n a winning on e. and he also took the I 25cc B victory. After an exc ellent heat race on his first tim e on a full-blown 600 . Raun Wood bot ched the start of the 600cc A fina l. earni ng a tr ip to th e thir d line. where he was jo ined by Jake Johnson . Mike Brabso n and Joey T yeryar. On the official start. Mull en exi ted th e secon d tum in front of Bastia n. Mees and Georgie Price. The front four sta yed very close du ring th e first half. with Mees running seco nd at the start of the third lap. On the sixth lap. Johnso n got under Price for fourth . Th e S p o rtsm a n f in a l w as v er y s im i la r . Wood agai n jum ped th e sta rt . this ti m e bein g jo ined on th e penalty line by Price and a pair of 250cc riders. A nd Mu ll en aga in jum ped in fron t o f B asti an , M ees a nd J oe Zydi nsky o n t he st art. Ag ain. M ees took sec o nd o n the th ird lap. with th e front fo ur st aying close to th e end . He needed th e superfast t ime t o take the award, as " Li g htn ing" Lan e Schultz had sli p ped up on th e Fast Time bubble with a fine 3 .884-second ru n in the 7 50c c class.
