For Hines, it m arked the first time th at he ha s fai led to make th e U.S.' Nationals final in his c areer, which began in 1996. Though Brown is well liked by fan s and fell ow c ompetitors , a nd was a popular c h a m p io n, th e se n ti m en t al fa vo rite in Pro Stock Bike w as Smith .
