INTRUOER VALUSIA BOO T he New Valusia is a hybr i d b et w e e n t he old V S 800 Intruder (w hich w ill still be available in 200 1) and the VLl500 In t r u d e r. S uz u k i wa nted to capitalize o n the po pu larity of the long, low and fa t look of t he 1500 Intruder , but in the smaller engine capacity category. The motor is the same 45 -d egree, liquid-cooled powerp lant fro m the 800 Intruder, bu t it ha s been m od ified to make peak to rq ue at a low -do wn 2500 rpm . The Valusia is fitted wi th a sin g le 34mm c arbu retor with air injection - in plac e o f th e standard 800 Intruder 's t w in ca rbs. It has a five-s peed tr an smi ss io n with a ta lle r fi f t h gea r f or smoothe r high way crui sing. T he wh eel sizes for the Valu sia are sim il ar to th e 1500 's , wi th a fat 16 inc h fr on t a nd a 15 -in ch rear. Th e b ike has been fitt ed w ith a sing le-disc fr o nt brak e , and a drum rear b rak e. The rear shock is adj usta ble fo r pr elo ad , b u t t h e fron t f ork isn' t adjustable at all. Suzuki w ill offe r a full lin e of accessories su ch as saddl ebags and w inds hields. Th e Valu sia will be avai la ble in two co lo r comb ination s: red / b la c k , and w hi te / black . Th e MS RP is $6599 a n d will most like ly be a n early Spr i n g 2001 release. The I ntru der Valusia 800 cruiser, long, low and fat. OR·Z2 50 T he D R-Z2 5 0 has been available in other markets for a few years , but will be brought to the United States this year to fill in a gap in their offroad li ne up. The motor is a 249cc air /oil -cooled fou r-stroke wi th a fourvalve head and DOHC. It also features a wet -sump cl utch as o ppo sed t o th e DR -Z400' s dry sump.
