Another reason for Italjet's lack of urgency in getting the Grifon into production is the company's current success in riding the crest of the scooter boom with its range of stylis h and distinct ive models, often emp loying avantgarde styl ing and leading-edge technology. Company boss Leopoldo Tartarini is struggling to meet demand from all over the world for Italj et' s range of models, incl uding in the USA , where Italjet has precede d Piaggio's recent interest in selling Vespas to North Am erica. and is trying to add a second shift of manufa cture at Italjet's Pescara factory to satisfy orders.
