Carmichael clinches
his first 250CC MX
championship at
Binghamton, NY.
This season , Ricky Carmichael jumped
from riding 125cc bikes to the even more
challenging 250CC class. And he landed
right where he took off. As a champion.
Two moto victories at Broome-Tioga MX
track captured the 250CC AMA/Chevy
Trucks U.S. Motocross Championship
with
one
round
left
to
go.
It's
a
performance equaled only by Kawasaki
rider Jeff Ward 's back-to-hack 125CC and
250CC moto championships in 1984/85.
And that's not all. Ricky goes into next
week's race tied for the most victories in a
single season. One more win will put him
over the top. And. it'll move him even
closer to the all-time career record of 37
MX Victories, that's just four wins away
right now. At just 20 years old, RC is on a
roll. So if you're following his KX250,
don't plan on passing anytime soon.
Ricky
isn 't
about
to
slow
down.
'" just wo rked my butt off and the team did
too.
It feels excellent to wrap up the title early."
