The only th ing that slowed Winsett down th is evening was a nat ti re on the fi na l lap of the 60 0cc A heal. In the final. he kept the tires und er him as he quic k ly put dista nce on Roy Miller , Hollister and Yoder. Ch ris Kli nefelter passed J oey Tye zya r for fifth on the thi rd lap . A cl osely bu nch ed pa ck of five ran in front during the early laps of the 250cc A fi nal. led by Ra un Woo d . w it h Corey Ha rmes . Brya n Douglas. Mill er and Kli nefe lter right behi nd. Kli nefelter sta rted a m ar ch to th e fro nt, sli ppin g into second at the end o f th e fifth lap. Dou gl as displ aced Hor m es for th ird on th e seventh lap. Mill er , on a 400 cc Rot ax, was a lonely fifth from the third lap on. The 50 0 A cla ss was. as usual. very tightly bu nched at the end of th e opening tap , w ith Chapm an holding t he point and Greg Sassaman , Da llas Ba er and Shawn Be e r c lo se behind. Dallas got by Sassama n on the third lap. while Shawn took third during the confusion surro unding Sm ith 's nea r-collisio n with the outside rail of f the fourth turn. Dall as bet tied Chapman throu g ho ut the remaining laps. and co ming off the fina l turn he got a slightly bette r d riv e and took the win . Hollister pati en tl y worked his wa y to th e fro nt of the Ov er 3 0 cla ss aft er start ing th ird . behind Ed Hyd e and Dalla s Baer.
