JULY 8 Jovie Sauloy was a double class wi nne r on Saturday night at Starwest. Sauloy, who is visiting California from the Philippines, will have some bragging to do when he returns home. as he won all his motes in th e 250cc Beginner and Vet Beginner classes. Daniel Taft a nd Jarrod Hensley battled in the 125cc Novice cla ss . Hensley was able to hold off Taft for the first-mota win. In the second rnoto . Taft took th e early lead and gave Hensley no opportun ity to pass . Taft took the second -mote win and th e o ve rall. Don John s Jake Me ndenhall ste pped up to the 60 cc (6 ·8 ) class. In the first mota. Mendenhall took second. behind Br ent Bohanon . Then Me ndenhall shot out o f the gate in the second moto with a huge holes hot. By the end of the first lap. Mendenha ll had about a five -second lead ove r Boha non and Kyle Corfman. W ith one l a p t o go . Me ndenhall exp er ienced so me mechanica l probl em s with his bike .
