Vohland made an aggressive block-pass that surprised Fonseca in a ch icane before the finish on lap th ree for fo urth. "J usti n is o ne of the best 12 5cc riders th e re is," Pa strana sa id of h is rival. "We used to b attle all the time, a nd he u se d to always beat me. He was flying the first few laps, but I wa s able to get by him ." Wey passed Buckelew later that lap for second and was loo king to repeat his performance of a year earlie r, whe n he won a moto and the overa ll.
