D ixie MX Heisler's Night Moves B y HUG H G ATU N OZARK, AL, JUNE 10 Montgomery, Alabama's Darryl Heisler made all th e rig ht moves in th e Open Mone y class at Dixie MX 's first race under the lights. On his way to both m oto wins, Heisler displa yed the speed and ability that has made him one of Alabama 's top night racer s since the late 1970s. Rod ney Summers grabbed the lead in the first Ope n Money mo ta , followed by Yama ha of Troy 's Alan Sander s a nd Honda;Ya mah a of Montgome ry-ba cked Heisle r. Sanders pu t a pass on Summer s t hrough the w hoops , but Sum m er s q u ickly retook t he p o int . He isler took second from Sanders and the n went wide in a tu m to get by Summers fo r the le ad . The thr ee YZ250 ride rs stay ed glued tog e ther for several laps. Sand ers eve ntua ll y drop ped off the pa ce, but Summers k ept th e pr essure on Heisler to the fin ish.
