The Superbowl of Motocross ran its two-day affair in the Los , Angel es Co liseum, with Yamaha ' s golden boy, Broc Glover, winning both nights. On Saturday , Kent Howerton (Suz) and Donnie Hansen (Hon) fo llo wed him across the finish line . while on Sunday it was the Hondas of Jim Gibson and Chuck Sun with the honors of fillin g out the podium ... Lodi , California, pla yed host to an Ama t eur T T National Qualifie r , with numb er-one-plate holder Chris Carr (Suz) taking the victo ry in two of the three races he co m pete d i n. JULY 18, 1990 T eam Kawasa ki 's Jeff Ward was pictured on t he cover of Issue 112 8 after sweep in g both motos at rou n d five of the AMA National Mot ocross Champi - ' onship . Ward took over the points lead with his victory, while Jeff Stant on (Han) suffered 7-2 moto finishes to drop to second in the points standings. Yamaha's Damon Bradshaw used 2-5 mot o fi nishes to garn er second overall and hold third in the series points standings. The 125cc class was won by Suzuk i' s Guy Cooper, who went 2 - 1 and sat second in points to Honda's Jean- Michel Bayle, 234-2 11...
