And there are still eight to be run in the next 10 wee ks. W ith 29 career victories. Smets is now the ninth-winningest GP rider in the history of the sport . For the second 250cc G P in succession. M ick ael Picho n w as none too happy w ith team mate Josh Coppins, who had fought him off fo r so long in 'race two that the front three - which included championship rival Fred Bolley - had charged well clear. Because the rules say thumpers betw een 350 and 400cc will be allowed in the 250cc class . and thos e between 450 and 650cc will be allowed in the 500cc class, At 426cc. the Yamaha falls in betw een those categories, The cancellation of the Polish 250cc GP on August 6 and the incorporation of the event in a double-header at Namur (both announced in last wee k's Cy cle News) means that more than a quarter of the seri es will take place in Belgium - truly wo rld-wide expansio n!
