Hyde moved past the Harley Davidson -mounted McCarver in pursuit of fellow Matchless p ilot Budschat, but j ust when the day's stellar thumper battl e got underwa y , Budschats mach in e e xp ir ed . Th is allowed the burly Canadia n . Hyde , a large advantage that he he ld to the fini sh for a win a he ad of McCarver , AJS-mounted Al an Moore, Matchless rider Ron Predmore and Lee Frost. Ma ico -mounted Scott Tyler, a form er Ma ico and Yamaha su pport rider, land ed a w in i n on e o f the four Bomber ( 19 75 -'81) Su p po rt classes, scoring a runaway w in in the 250cc final ah ead of Honda rid er Ryan P .ugh . McCarv er, a three-cla ss conte st ant , topped th e 125cc Bomber class and d id likewise in th e O pen Fou r-Strok e cla ss.
