Scott Howe grabbed th e early lead in the fi rst 125cc Inte rm edia te moto and quickly c ame unde r fire from Tim Weigand , J eff Eide and Donn ie Gritton . Howe went down at th e halfwa y po int, h and ing t h e l ead to G ri tto n, Young bobbled i n th e sand on lap three , g iv ing Ordel man a 10-second advantage.
