The Start was inside a motocross c ircuit. which also featured four out of the 15 sect ions . The ot hers we re split into two groups . sit uated 2.5 and four miles away. The event featured a very affordable entrance fee of just over a buck per day. but there was no bus se rv ice t o the mor e dista nt sec tion s. On Saturday. Salvador Garcia. M arc Co lomer' s minder. fell badly trying to catch his rider' s bike on the stee p and slippery rock of section one. He cut his head on a rock . but after a quick dre ssing , con tinued his job . Despite a c ollarbone b r oken whi le training at home. Spaniard Albert Cabestany co nteste d the first day . but the pain was too much. He dropped out afte r the first loop and did not start the next day. If you are wondering why S p a n i s h riders are so strong . it co uld be because they ride at every opport unity .
