Campbell got on board the American

RG3-sponsored XR for the last sec tion , and although he lost a bit of
time in the last section, it wasn't
enough to cost him the win . "I was
riding hard, but I didn't want to stall
it, and I didn't want to fall down," he
admitted.
"It was pretty close," said Abbott,
who rode the second-place Kawasaki
in the last section, and finished only
40 seconds back despite experiencing rear-brake problems. "We had
quite a fe w m ishaps, but we did our
best. Those guys j u s t had a great
day."
Despite his team's lack of troubles,
Campbell still called the day stressful.
"It's good being out of the dust, but it's
tough breaking tra il. Sometimes, I
a lmost p refer having someone up
a h ead to chase . Then you at least
know where you are, instea d of having
a pack of hounds chasing yo u ."
