But at round one on Friday , Saddlemen/Lancaster H -D /Dodge Brothe rs-s p o n so re d Mi k e Ha ck er made SuperTracker history by outduel ing Joe K opp through turn one of the National and c ru ising to the win . The h istory part c omes in the fact that Hacker's win marked the fi rst time that anyth ing b es id es a Suzuk i has won one of th e SuperTrapp races. Hacker's Ray Texter-bu ilt Buell is the first serious c h allen g e r to Suzu k i's domination of th e fledgling series . " T h a t b ike is j u s t awesome , " Hacker said . "Mr. Te xter has pu t a lot o f time on th e engine and it shows . Randy [T ext e r) and Johnny [Goad] have got it hand ling great. We've got something this year." Work ing his wa y into third after a slow start was Rogers -Lake Racing / M itc he ll 's Mod esto H - D /Custom Chrome' s Gary Roger s. Ro gers' Suzuki had fuel fi lt er p roblem s d uri ng hi s he at ra ce , and he was forced to start o n th e se c o nd ro w i n th e m a in . Ro ge rs c aptu re d th ird on th e eighth lap, but was well behi nd the tw o battling le ader s. Jason Sentell he ld h is M&K Rac ing Suzuki in th ird, but Geo rge Richtmey er moved up quick ly. Richtmeyer had his B .A .D ,D .A.R./ Stackmaster Suzu ki on the bottom and locked into third until Rogers stormed by him. The m iddle of the race saw a tight battle over fou r th among Sent ell , Team Powell 's J .R . Schn abel and Rogers. Rogers clawed h is way clear an d eve ntually ca ug ht Rich tm eyer.
