Albertyn didn't have much to show in the rnoto, and his sore knee didn't help his cause any . He still got around Lusk, but so did his teammate Reynard, who ev ent ually got A lber tyn , making the final fi nishi ng order: Carm ichael, Vuill emin, Tortelli, Windham , LaRocco , Rey n ar d , Al bertyn and Lusk. The three riders ga ve th e Hang town cro wd something to get excited about as they diced sometimes three abreast. Fina lly, Ca rm ichael had h a d enough , and both To rte ll i a nd Vuillemin rode around him in succession . Carmichael, worn out and beat up , let Tortelli and Vuillemin go . With Windham in control up front, all attention focused on th e Tortell i/Vuillem in duel th at would ultimately decide th e overall outcome. It was a classic co nfro nt at ion that saw the t w o F ren ch ri de rs bou n c ing off each other a number of t imes.
