Speaking of FMF/ Honda, there have been some rumors recently of a shake-up in some of the 125c c satellite teams for 2001. prima rily regarding p o ssi b le bra n d s wit c h e s . When asked about the rumor. FMF"s Danny laPorte said that his company and Honda are happy with their relationship. SplitFire/ Pro Circuit Kawasaki Manager M itch Payton. when asked the same question. replied. "We 'll have an answe r for you in 30 days." Also in attendance (but not racing) were Stefan Evert s and Danny LaPorte. "I don't know why it hurts so bad," said Chiodi in Italian. "Everyone says I'm okay, but it hurts. If the bone was broken, it would be okay - you don't race because it's broken. But the Xray says it's okay, and I still can't ride." . Thoughhe saysthat it's frustrating that the extent of his therapy is stretching, Chiodi hopesto be ready for action for round two IC National motos at the same venue. Carmichael's previous six Glen Helen mot o win s came in the 125cc class. Coombs also mentioned that Travis Pastrana had a shot at being the second rider (after Jean-M ichel Bayle) ever to win his debut National race. Honda's Ezr a Lus k went 7- 11 for eighth ove rall in his retu rn to racing. afte r missing the entire Supercross Series with a shoulder injury. " I feel great," said Lusk, w ho hadn't raced since September. " It's been a long time, so it's wha t we expecte d." Lusk feels his fit ness is fine, and that there are just a few small things he's lacking before he'II be back up to speed. For the outdoor race. the factory Hondas are using the 20-inch front rims that M i k e LaRocco used in supercross . Team Honda is also running 18-inch rear rim s .
