G rand Nat ional Cross Country Series
race of the year at the late s t GNCC
round in Sparta, Kentucky, on Apri l 30.
Watts finished eight seconds ahead of
runner-up Doug Blackwell (Yam), who
had a co mfo rtab le 30 -second lead over
t hird-place finisher Fred Andrews
(Kaw) , Barry Hawk Jr. (Yam) and
Scott Summers (Hon) rounded out the
top five overa ll. Other notable finishers
included Mike Kiedrowski (Suz), who
fin ish ed seve nth , Pau l Edmondson
(K aw ), wh o fin ished 11th, and f ormer

(KTM), who finished 14th.
