Hom Rapids Motocross Park Winsett Wins It at ST Opener Lied had to check up because he was so close. With two laps to go, Lied got a little crossed up in the fourth turn, and then his Yamaha caught traction quickly and threw him over the bars. The race was red-flagged and called complete; Lied just had some By lEN AND BEN BREECH scratches. RICHLAND, WA, MAR. 19 David Rose Jr., fresh out of the 80cc ranks, dominated the l25cc Junior class at the second round of the Squisher Racing Motocross Series at Hom Rapids Motocross Park. Rose easily won both motos with leads well over 20 seconds. Rose has only raced a 125 a handful of times, but he has won almost every race he's entered. Shane like also had excellent matos, finishing 2-3 to take second place overall in the extremely competitive 125cc Junior class. In a much more exciting race, Jason Zuhlke, Mark Henderson and Casey Jones battled it out for the lead in the first mota of the Combined Intermediate class. Zuhlke narrowly pulled the holeshot as Jones went bar to bar with him through the first tum. Jones hounded Zuhlke for the first two laps but gradually fell back. This allowed Henderson to take the second spot away. In the end, it was Zuhlke topping Henderson in a close battle at the finish. Jones finished a respectable third. Unfortunately, Henderson did not finish the second mota, leaving Zuhlke and Dave Silvestri to do battle in the first couple of laps. Silvestri eventually pulled out a comfortable lead and went on to win the mota. Zuhlke finished second, and Kevin Granger n~rrowly topped Jones for the third spot. The first 80cc Beginner mota was a slugfest, with loch Tabor, Cody Archer, Mike Leishman and Tyler Hollmeier in a battle that lasted almost the entire moto. All four riders held the lead at some time, but in the end Tabor finished first. with Archer and Leishman finishing right on his heels. Mota two was another bumper-to-bumper race, with Archer topping the field, Leishman second, and Ronnie Noel in third. Archer won the overall. Leishman and Tabor finished second and third. Trail-Way Speedway Results HANOVER, PA, MAR. 25 Rotax-mounted Ricky Winsett picked up where he left off last season by easily dominating the 600cc A and Sportsman classes as Trail-Way Speedway kicked off the Northeast short-track season on a wann but blustery first weekend of spring. Bob Sweeten finished second to Winsett in the 600 final and took off from the rest of the 250cc A class. 50 oa..·Il'U: 1. JII50fl tieJbert (Yam); 2. ..IoIh S&andIford (Y.-n): 3. Derek Hersh (Yam): 4.
