All but the four teams in front of
Daniel, out of the approximate 140
that entered the event, were a lap
down. He was the only competitor to
complete 43 laps. The man credited
with the actual Ironman win was last
year's solo-class winner, Steve
Anderson. Anderson completed an
impressive 41 laps, three laps ahead of
runner-up Ironman James Jongkind.
After six hours of racing, a surprisingly tight finish took place in the
Business class, where a three-team
dual between GPR Stabilizers' Randy
Norman/Tim Ryker, Higgins Electric's Rhett Higgins/Jason Higgins
and White Brothers' Mark Hall/Fred
Conover all finished with 40 laps
completed within moments of one
another. The YZF piloted by Norman
and Ryker came out on top. The Higgins Electric KX250 barely edged out
the White Brothers Husqvarna 610 for
second.
