~iIIy Hamill celebrated a decade in
DBritish Speedway with a highly
successful testimonial at Coventry
International Motor Speedway before
thousands of fans who came from
Coventry and Hamill's former club,
Cradley Heath. They joined forces to
pay tribute to the 1996 World Speedway Champion, who was clearly
delighted after the event.
HamilJ himself came close to winning his own race after a string of
impressive rides, but missed out in
the grand final. Instead, Denmark's
Nicki Pedersen walked off with the
$3000-plus first prize to complete a
remarkable turnaround for the youngster. He had intended to use the afternoon to reacquaint himself with the
rigors of top-class combat after a 10month injury layoff. Instead he
