Sunday reversed the running order
from day one, and early riders found
ice on the ground in the shadowy
woods. Because of this, Lenzi - the
first rider through the sections - was
not able to repeat his superb day-one
performance, and he finished fifth on
the day). The day's best showing was
by Kuroyama, whose 14 points though impressive - were not sufficient to wrest the win from Alcaraz
(who had scored just two points
more). Finally looking a bit more
confident, Miglio scored 18 to make
the third step of the podium. In the
fourth place was Gandine, followed
by Lenzi on his new Gas Gas.

This was the 18th editiort of the Two Days
of Brianza. The Monza venue is six miles
from Milan in the north of Italy. In the past,
the start area was closer to the mountains.
but these days environmental con·
cerns forced the organizers to choose
another town for the start. One of the
loops was practically on traffic-heavy
roads.
Many sections were in the woods, with
slippery roots and icey ground in the
early morning. The first and last sections
of both days were close to the start, and
featured big "indoor style" logs.
Brianza is a region situated north of Milan,
and it is rich In trials culture. Domino,
a producer of handlebars, throttles and
grips is here, and Fantic Motor and Garelli
used to have their factories in the area
(both are now just empty buildings).
