Honda of Houston/Pro Circuit/Thor/Scott-backed Bryan Zachary and Team Green/LCS/Thor/Superfast Fuels-supported Jonathan Kerr chased Gilmore to the finish line in second and third, respectively. Nichols Suzuki's Sheldon Herrman of Kansas snatched the holeshot in the 250cc Intermediate main. but he was quickly passed in the whoops by North Texas Yamaha/Superfast Fuel's Donny Jackson, LCS/Answer/ Scott's Dustin Cantrell and D&S Kawasaki/J&M/Thor/Bailey Construction's Joe Bailey. Cantrell hounded Jackson for three laps before he made a slick pass and held the lead to the finish, putting a big smile on Cantrell's daddy's face. Kerr took the 80cc (12-15) mainevent holeshot, chased by Dennis Jonon and Zachary. Zachary almost lost it when he took the sweeper too wide going up the Catapult, but he saved it and continued his pursuit of Kerr. By the end of lap three, it was a showdown between Kerr and Zachary, as they raced side by side down the start straight and around the first turn into the whoops. After winning both Friday and Saturday nights' Kawasaki 65cc Invitational events. Gilmore returned on Sunday in the Amateur lineup to collect three more wins, in the 65cc (7-11). 85cc (7-11) and Supermini contests. Answer/Spy /Wiseco-supported Austin Miller maintained third from start to finish, and FMF/Spy's Ron Reese and Chris Turner rounded out the top five in the class.
