MOTOCROSS November- 29December 4,2005 ~ 2nd Annual Amateur Open Jessy Nelson racked up four first-place trophies. Team Green's Baggett was the champion in the 8Scc Stock and Modified (12-13) classes. Baggett split motos with Aaron Siminoe in the Stock class, then went I-I in the Modified class, beating Jason Anderson and Dylan Lane in the first moto, and Siminoe and Levi Hall in the second. What's a former AMA Supermoto champion supposed to do with all his downtime? Well, if you're Jeff Ward, you load the motorhome up with the family and bikes, and go to Arizona for some racing. The Troy Lee Designs-backed Ward took championships in Over-25, Over-30 and Over-40 Expert A classes. Lance Phillips came into the runoff moto with a win in his divisional race of the Midsize Modified C class, and for most of the race, went unnoticed after he started out in sixth place. Out front after the start, it was Dakota Tedder leading the way, followed by Jonathan Dietrick, Michael Parks, Cole Martinez and Myles Tedder. Dakota Tedder had an outside chance for the overall if Dietrich stayed in second, however, both Parks and Myles Tedder moved by Dietrich on the next lap. One lap later, Myles passed Parks for second to put himself in contention for the overall win, but went down on the back section, moving Parks back into second and Phillips into third. This set the stage for the battle between Parks and Phillips, and whoever came out on top would be the champion. Dakota Tedder held on for the moto win, while, on the hills, Phillips passed Parks for second and the title.
