In the first motc, Bagwell took a commanding lead from the start, and he was able to distance himself from the competition. John Washburn, the runner-up in points. rode in for a second- place finish. Rodger Bennett got a midpack start and had to work his way up to third at the end. The second motc again saw Bagwell take an early lead, but in the early laps, Ammons was able to work his way up from third to take the lead, which he held until the end, with Bagwell chasing him. Adam Lesley was able to take over third place, while Washburn had to settle for fourth. Bagwell took the overall win, maintaining a 25-point lead in the class. Ammons took second place. Third went to Washburn, who only holds a four-point advantage over Ammons. The hotly contested Over 28 Intermediate class was no disappointment. Fox-backed Mitchell Bailey took advantage of the absence of the class points leader and rode two great motos to put a I-I overall win into the record books, putting him in a tie with Derric Swinfard for the lead in the points chase. Factory Effex/Spy/RG3/No Toil/Maxxis-backed rider Mike Tomlinson chased Bailey all day and rode in for 2-2 finishes to take second place. Tomlinson lies third in the points and is desperately trying to make up the 18-point defiCit, with only two rounds left. Third for the day was Paul Delaurier, whose 4-3 finishes edged out Teamsters 399-backed Andre Brandes (3-4) for the final podium step. Carter Gurnee put his new Suzuki into a commanding lead in both 28-35 Pro motos to take the class win. Todd Mitchell put his Tag/One/Alloy-backed Suzuki into second with a 2-2 tally. Don Bisceglia went 3-3 to take third overall. In the Over 43 Novice class, Bob Marino and Chris Coons swapped moto wins and runner-up finishes, Coons won the first moto, with Marino behind him, claiming second. Rich Naganuma placed third. In the second moto, Marino was determined to take a win: He took the lead right from the start. Coons gated midpack and had to battle toward the from, Marino took the moto win, with Coons making his way to second by the end.
