The WOReS awards banquet was held at the Oasis Casino, following the pro race on Sunday, with over 300 people in attendance. WORCS gave away 10 bikes and two ATVs. National Championship jackets were also given out. with free gear from ARC for all the winners. Rekluse Products also gave out free gear and clutches in a raffle held at the banquet. Keidrowski finished second, a minuteand-a-half behind Caselli, while Weigand, who had been on a roller coaster of a ride all day, had his luck go bad and ran out of gas on the last lap. The mishap dropped him from third to ninth. Smail took advantage of Weigand's misfortune and grabbed the final podium spot. "I'm just really happy to be dicing up front again," Smail said. "I can't wait to get this bike dialed and battle with everyone next year. It is going to be good." Pearson and KTM-mounted Mike Corder rounded out the top fIVe, while newly crowned WORCS Champion Nathan Woods was out of the hunt early. With the series already decided, Woods wanted to finish off his year with a win; however, he just didn't have luck on his side. "I wanted to finish off strong, but it just didn't go that way," Woods said. "I ended up crashing and landing on my bike and putting a huge lump on my shin. Speaking of Maxxis tires, probably the coolest thing of the night was when Maxxis race-support front-man Mike Farmer accepted his award from WORCS for supporting the series. While accepting the trophy with his girlfriend of seven years, Amber Pickett, Farmer dropped to his knee and, in front of 300 people, asked her, with ring in hand, if he could sponsor her for life. Amber said yes. Amber will be a fully supported farmdawg.comlMaxxis-rider from here on out. Matt Karlsen was the top privateer for the year and pocketed a cool $2500 to go with his $1000 from Maxxis.
