Oct. 22-23. 2005 TRIALS ~ Jess Kempkes came out of retirement to win the Gas Gas USA Pro Invitotional Trials in Oklahoma. Kempkes went 1·2 over the two days. ormer top national competitor Jess Kempkes, riding a privateer Gas Gas. came out of semiretirement to defeat a field of some of America's best trials riders en route to a $1000 payday at the Gas Gas USA Pro Invitational Trials, held in the shadow of Pensacola Dam, near Langley, Oklahoma. Sherco USA's David Chaves of Spain came from behind to finish second in the two-day competition, while teammate Cody Webb of California took third. The 28-year-old Kempkes was once the hottest young trials rider in the country and finished the 1997 U.S. National Series in F 36 NOVEMBER 16,2005 • CYCLE NEWS
