one point. George Chamarro took the race-four win, over Scott Williams on his small-bore Kawasaki. "Williams was on me like a rabid dog," said Chamarro. "I could hear his bike pinned all the time. My Yamaha 450 just outpulled him on the big hills." Race five started late in the day, which meant the sunshine was slanting right into the riders' helmets. The sun also would shine on Lewistown Honda-sponsored Scot Maxwell. as he put his CRF450 into an early lead and then ran away from the pack (or his second win of the day. The win gave Maxwell the overall victory by one point over Williams, and by two points over Chamarro. "Wow, I really didn't expect this," Maxwell admitted.
