New England Regional Championship
Winchester Speedpark Motocross
WINCHESTER, NH, SEPT. 3·5
I
f you race motocross in New England,
chances are pretty good that you can pick an
organization to race with every weekend,
spring through fall. If you're way up north, you
can run with the Maine MX Series or the New
Hampshire Challenge. Of course, you may prefer the Winchester Speed park Series. Then
again, you may want to run with NEMA. The
granddaddy of them all, with the "fastest riders
in New England," is, of course, the NESC,
breeding ground for guys like Dowd and
Henry, plus a whole host of fast local riders.
So who are the fastest racers in New England?
Enter the New England Regional Championship:
three days. three motos to determine the fastest
in each class. And on September 3, 4 and 5,
virtually every racer in New England came to
Winchester Speedpark to find out.
The first gate drop for the weekend was for
the 125cc Expert class, and it was to be an
indicator of how the racing would go for the
entire weekend. The lead changed three times
in the first two laps, and the battles ran deep
throughout the class.
The holeshot for moto one went to Josh
jones. but Chad Charbonneau quickly took over
the lead on his way to the mota win.
Charbonneau ran his Cernics.com/Factory
Connection Honda around like it was on rails,
going 1-1-1 for a solid win in the I25cc Expert
class. The battle for second was a dogfight
