Briefly... After finishing with a pair of ninths aboard a borrowed motorCycle in Nashville, Josh Chisum found himself aboard one of Craig Mason's FastSOs.com Yamaha YZ40SFs for Reno. "Mason's an old motocross buddy, and he had a couple Yamaha's laying around," Chisum said. "It seems to be all right. It runs good and its stable, so it's just a matter of getting used to it. It still has handlebars and two wheels just like the rest of them." Chisum had a fair day, qualifying 16th and going 12-12 in the two Supermoto races. Not just a surprising finisher, Yoshimura Suzuki's Aaron Yates was a surprising entrant at the Red Bull Supermoto A-GoGo. 'I'\t Nashville, I was kind of done with it, but then I got to thinking about it on Sunday, during the ride home, and on Monday, and I thought, 'This is my chance to go do it,... Yates said. "I got to calling around, trying to find a bike out here. I talked with Yoshimura, and this [Suzuki RM-Z4S0] is actually Motocross Action's test bike that they just returned. My Superbike mechanic took the thing apart, freshened it up, did the head and put some Yosh cams in it, and I took my bike apart at home. I packed my bags, my wheels, my brakes, my forks, my carburetor and all my good stuff, and I got to Yoshimura [in Southern California] on Wednesday. We went motocrossing at some Starwest place on Thursday, loaded the bike up, washed it up and then drove up here [Reno] on Friday. I was in the back ofthe truck, changing out the suspension and wheels and everything. It has been a thrash, but it was worth it." Yates enjoyed an outstanding fourth-place finish in race two after a great battle with Kurt Nicoll, Cassidy Anderson and Steve Drew.
