Briefly...
The Antioch Speedway round of Gene
Romero's West Coast Flat Track Series,
which was scheduled for October I, has
been canceled. "Just like many of the
short track venues in California, the
Antioch Speedway promoters have been
having a difficult year, and it was difficult
for them to package our event under
the present time and conditions, such as
escalating fuel costs. We have maintained a positive relationship with them,
and they have made it clear that they
will be on our 2006 schedule." With the
Antioch round canceled, the final round
of Gene Romero's West Coast Flat
Track Series is scheduled to take place
at the Chowchilla Barnburner on the
Chowchilla Fairgrounds in Chowchilla,
California, on September 24. For more
information, call 714/529-6054.
